Take a look at our NEW class timetable!

News

Hard to believe that we’re about to enter March – with Pancake Day on Tuesday and Spring and Easter just around the corner!

For us, of course, March brings the countdown to Mia leaving us, although we are delighted for her that her new life in Denmark is already taking great shape.

We are still busily trying to recruit a replacement to fill Mia’s shoes – some of you may have seen our recruitment video on Instagram – if you’d like to add a comment about your experience of the studioit could make all the difference in helping us find the right person for our community!

While we find the perfect person to fill the role, we are finalising arrangements, with some great teachers, for interim cover and will share more on this as soon as we can.

We are starting our new Find Your Flow® programs this week – read on for more details.

The calendar is open for bookings in March, with our new Reformer Plus Class on Saturdays at 10am.

Reserve your place below!

Whatever the coming week holds for you, we hope you enjoy it!

NEW Class Timetable

A number of you suggested that we open a Reformer Plus class at the weekend.  So, in response, we are opening a new Reformer Plus Class on Saturday mornings at 10am.  This is likely to be a popular class, so don’t delay in booking your place!

We’ve had great feedback on the Twist theme in our Reformer Plus classes.  Some of you have told us that, as well as feeling your oblique muscles (at the side of your abs) you can also feel muscles at the side of your lower spine when you’re working on some movements in the program.  They’re the quadratus lumborum (QL) muscles, (located on both sides of the spine between the ribcage and pelvis).  They’re important because they help us with lower back movement and support our spine!  On an everyday functional level, we use the QLs for side bend when carrying shopping, a child on one hip etc.

Unfortunately, they can become tight, particularly if we sit for long periods – does that sound like anyone you know?  So movements like side bend and mermaid are great to help strengthen and balance those muscles.  And stretches like cat stretch and child’s pose can help stretch them out when they become too tight.

If this sounds like something you’d benefit from, you might want to give it a go!  Book your place below.

All Things Pilates Community Corner!

This week on Instagram we’re show-casing the Step Up.  It’s a full body movementfocusing on strengthening and toning muscles around the hips, knees and ankles.  At an everyday level, it will help us climb stairs or get up and down from the floor with greater ease.  It will also improve our lunge ability in sports like tennis, football or crossfit (to name a few!)

Take a look here  – and if you like, send us a video or photo of your Step Up!

Don’t forget to take a look at our short recruitment video – and if you have time, help us in our search by adding a comment about your experience in the studio!
