 What’s on this week: 24 – 29 April

Dear <<First Name>>,

What a wonderful week it has been – we hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have!  Now that the days are so much longer, we’ve been enjoying evening walks in the park and along the river, watching the sun go down.  During the daytime, like many of you, we have been tackling our gardensundertaking home renovations – or a touch of spring-cleaning, or just enjoying being in the sunshine!  Whatever you have been up to, we hope that you’ve felt the benefits of your regular Pilates practice.

The Studio also looks great in the sunshine – it puts a smile on everyone’s face and seems to give us all an extra burst of energy – we’re loving it!

We’re also loving our new Find Your Flow® program and hope that you are too.  We’re calling this program ‘Gymnast’ since that’s the culmination – take a look at Community Corner below to find out how you’ll get there and the benefits of the program.

If you’re waking up earlier now that the mornings are lighter, why not join our online classes at 7.30am on Wednesdays or Fridays?  They’re full of energy and a great way to get you up and going for the day!

For those of you who prefer to exercise in the evenings, there are also places in our classes on Tuesday evenings at 6pm and 7pm.  It’s a super way to ease out tensions that may have built up during the day and really set you up for a wonderful night’s sleep!

You can book your class below.

Whatever you’re doing, have a great week and we look forward to seeing you in the studio or online soon!

All Things Pilates Community Corner!

Our new Find Your Flow® themed program is now underway.    We’re calling this one Gymnast since that’s the culmination of the program, but as always, you’ll be enjoying a full body workout along the way.

The main focus of the Program is on mobilising and strengthening our arms and shoulders (much needed by all of our gardeners!).  We’ll also be strengthening our core, improving our spinal mobility into flexion and challenging our balance.

We know that might sound daunting for some of us – but don’t worry – that’s one of the benefits of the six-week program!

We’ll start the session with a great warm-upfocusing on many of the muscle groups that we’ll be using throughout the session.  We’ll then move onto some movements that you’ll remember from our last program – scooter or mermaid.

After that we’ll do more work on our shoulders, arms and coreoffering a range of positions from which you can do the movements while we all get used to them.  As ever, as the weeks go by, some of us will be ready to challenge ourselves by increasing the number of repetitions and/or increasing the weight of the springs.  Importantly, you can work at the pace that’s right for your body on that day.

We’ll then start to move into the form needed for Tendon Stretch – a movement that, over time, will lead us into Gymnast.  The full movements are performed with both feet on the moving reformer bed as in the photo above.  But again, we’ll start with both feet firmly on the floor while we find our spinal mobility – and get used to being upside down!

Again, as we become strongermore flexible and more comfortable with the movements, we’ll add levels of challenge until many of us will find ourselves flowing in and out of the full movements!

Over coming weeks, we’ll look in a little more detail at some of the movements we’re doing over the next few weeks.  If there’s a particular movement you’d like to know more about let us know – we’d be delighted to delve into it!

If you’d like to experience our Find Your Flow® themed programs, book your place in one of our Reformer Plus classes – see the timetable and book your below.

If you’re new to Pilates, you can experience the Reformer in our Reformer Fundamentals Class on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm – we’d love to introduce you to the benefits of the Reformer!  Reserve your place below.
