What’s on this week and next week:
1 – 11 June

NB.  Studio closures over bank holiday weekend.

Dear <<First Name>>,

It’s hard to believe that we’re running headlong into June and the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend!

We know that some of you are planning street parties, barbecues and other activities to celebrate the historic Jubilee.  Others are taking advantage of the extra bank holiday and half term break to get away for a while.  Whatever you are planning, we hope that you have a wonderful time.

We’ll be taking a break for the bank holiday weekend too – the studio will be closed on Thursday and Friday (2 and 3 June) but we will hold a Reformer Plus class at 10am on Saturday 4 June.  Book your place below.

From Monday 6 June we’ll be open as usual, with a full schedule of daytime and evening classes.  As a reminder, we now have evening classes from Monday to Thursday:
Mondays – Online Class at 6pm
Tuesdays – Reformer Plus Classes at 6pm and 7pm
Wednesdays – Mat Class in the Studio at 6pm
Thursdays – Reformer Plus Class at 7pm (Studio closed on 2 June.)
What better way to ease out the stresses and strains of the day!  You can reserve your place below.

If you haven’t been able to get to a class since the start of the pandemic, don’t forget to check whether you have any credits in your account.  We carried over all of the credits you had back in March 2020, but they will expire at the end of the year.  To check your credits, go to our booking site, select ‘Redeem Credit or Gift Certificate‘ and type in your email address.  Any remaining credits will be shown.

This week on Instagram we’re focusing on ‘single leg stretch’ on the Reformer – take a look below and check our our amazing Introductory Offer for new clients!

We’re also saying farewell and thank you to Metusha who is leaving us this week to begin her new career – see below for a short tribute to Metusha.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend when it arrives and we look forward to seeing you in the studio or online soon!

Online Classes
We are receiving great feedback about our NEW Online class on Mondays at 6pm – thank you for taking the time to let us know!  The class is suitable for all levels of ability and will be delving deeper into some of the intermediate level movements and flows.  You can book your place below.

PLEASE NOTE:  The class on Mondays has a different login link to our usual login details.  Please check your booking confirmation and reminder emails for the links to each class.

We are seeing some amazing Roll-Ups (Wednesday) and Squats (Fridays) in our online classes.  We hope that you can notice how much more supple and stronger you’re becoming over the course of the six week programs.

Follow the links to read more about each program and the Find Your Flow® method.

Reformer Plus Classes
Now that the days are longer, why not end your day with a Reformer Plus Class.  We have classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as our regular day-time and Saturday morning classes.

The new focus for our Reformer Plus classes will be Scooter and Teaser.  You can work at your own pace and build up the movements over the course of the six weeks and you’ll still get a fully body workout.

The Scooter is a wonderful exercise to improve stability in our knees and pelvis, as well as for strengthening our glutes.

The Teaser – which can also be performed on the mat – is a super full body exercise, which improves mobility at every level of our spinesstrengthens deep core muscles and frees up tension in our hips and shoulders.

Reserve your place in our Online or in studio classes below.

Goodbye and Thank you Metusha!

This week we are saying Goodbye and Thank you to Metusha who is leaving us to begin her new career. Many of you will remember that Metusha joined us from the Kickstart programme last autumn.  Since joining us, she has transformed our social media presence – thanks to her skill and creativity, we now have a super library of Pilates movements on our Instagram and YouTube channels.

We have been in awe of Metusha’s technical expertise and creative talent for taking and editing such great videos.  With such a strong can-do attitude and work ethic, Metusha has been such a pleasure to work with.

We are very sad to have to say goodbye but are thrilled that Metusha has found a permanent role doing what she loves to do.  We couldn’t be more proud of her for finding the right opportunity for herself.

We wish Metusha all the very best of success and happiness in her new career.

Thank you for everything you have brought to All Things Pilates Metusha  – and we leave you with one of Metusha’s most popular videos – the Chavez Kenny Family ‘Find your Flo!’ blooper reel!

All Things Pilates Community Corner!

This week on Instagram Gemma is demonstrating ‘single leg stretch’ on the long box.  Although Gemma is using the reformer, this exercise can be done on the mat, with or without the box.

It’s another full body movementfrom tips of toes to crown of the head!  It’s great for strengthening the core and stabilising the spine, as well as getting the leg muscles working.

Take a look here  – and if you like, send us a video or photo of your single leg stretch – we’d love to see how you’re getting on with it!

You don’t have to start with the full movement but you can build up to it over time.  Initially you may want to try the movement with your head and shoulders resting on the floor.  Or you may want to start with your feet on the floor to practice your chest lift – it’s important not to strain the muscles in your neck while performing the full exercise!  If you’re struggling with single leg stretch, have a word with your teacher.  She’ll be able to help you practise each component before putting the movement together

Those of you who have tried the Reformer will know that (although Gemma’s not using them here) the springs can really support you while your body gains strength and greater mobility.

If you’d like to experience the Reformer, currently, we have an amazing Introductory Offer (for new clients only) of a one hour 1:1 session AND a Reformer Plus class for only £60.  You can access the offer here.  Don’t delay – this offer won’t be around forever!
